WEEK 6!!

Hey girls! WE are starting WEEK 6. Things are ramping up! 6 weeks to go! The food is going down in thoughtfully, enormous sizes. And, side note (YES! JO is back in my llife- Thank GOOdness!)
OK I need some feedback from ya'll, Becky and I were talking the other night and wondered what training schedule everyone else was one for the final 6 weeks for LONG RUNS. Is it better to go up (4 weeks) then down for last 2 weeks ( 8miles, 10miles, 11miles, 9miles, 8miles)?" or go up, down, up, down, such as, 8, 10, 8, 11, 12, 6)
What do you think veterans??
Have a great week of running girls!
Can't wait to meet you guys at the start line.
p.s. What are you wearing? (It had to be asked!)

  1. hi ladies...here's my plan for remaining long runs--all the training plans I've done have followed a 3-week build, 1-week "light" in terms of both total volume and distance of long run.

I'm just coming off my "light" week, so this Saturday will be back up to 9 miles. The following weekends are 10, 11-12, 9-10, and then 6 miles the weekend before the race (October 1st). My total weekly mileage volume looks like this: 18 miles this week then 19, 20, 18, 11.

    Hope this helps.

Meanwhile, I'm finding it next to impossible to get out of bed while it's still dark. This morning I hit snooze six times instead of getting up for my morning run. ugh.

  2. Hi All,
Jen and I share the same trainer so we both have very similar training plans. Therefore I too have 3 weeks of build and 1 week of easier workouts. I have been practicing this way of training for over a year now and it hasn't failed me yet! As for what I'm wearing, my running shoes for sure! and perhaps we can find something fun and new to wear at the Expo?
